Benchmark

Capture a run, then compare it with the last one.

Needs access Over the game In 2.0

Available in 2.0. Install it from the Extensions tab.

Records every frame the system really shows while you play, and turns them into the numbers that describe how a game feels: the average, and the 1% lows behind the stutter you notice.

Change one setting, capture again, and the result screen puts both runs side by side, with both profiles named.

Highlights

Capture over the game

A button over the game starts and stops a capture. With the FPS overlay installed, a tap on the number does the same.

The numbers that matter

Average FPS, 1% and 0.1% lows, stutters, a frame-time graph, and the battery temperature and power every 5 seconds. Pauses longer than a second are counted on their own and kept out of everything else.

A against B

Compare a capture with an earlier one of the same game: the difference for each number and a second line in the graph.

Load test

All CPU cores and a GPU shader at once, in 10-second rounds. One round gives a quick score. 5, 10 or 20 minutes give a throttle test with stability: the slowest round as a share of the best.

Share card

Set it up

  1. Set up privileged access once (wireless debugging, Shizuku or root).
  2. Install Benchmark from the Extensions tab and allow Display over other apps.
  3. Start a game from Game Mode. Tap the capture button over the game when the match starts.
  4. Play. Tap the button again to stop. The result opens when you leave the game.

Using it

Comparing two settings

Capture the same part of the game twice, once per setting. Open the second result and tap Compare. Look at the 1% low first: it moves more than the average when a setting really costs frames.

The throttle test

Run 10 minutes with the phone as you hold it while playing. A stability under about 80% means the phone slows down to protect itself when it gets warm. The test stops on its own at 48 °C battery temperature and when you leave the screen.

What it needs

Permission or accessWhy
Privileged accessTo read the frame timings of the game.
Display over other appsFor the capture button over the game.

Limits

  • The score compares runs of this app with each other. It is not a standard benchmark and is not comparable with other apps’ scores.
  • A capture follows one game at a time.

Questions

How is this different from the match report?

Game Mode records every session by itself, and the match report explains it afterwards. A capture is a run you start on purpose, to compare it with another one.
