Make your own edition

The built-in editions

GLTool, Volt, Azure, Ember, Stealth and Nightfall. Pick one under Edition and theme in Settings, or tap the badge on the top card.

Make one in five minutes

1. In the app: Edition and theme › Make your own › Get the template. You get gltool-template.gltheme.
2. Rename it to .zip and unzip it: edition.json, hero.png, logo.png, boot.wav.
3. Edit edition.json. Only format, id, name and accent are required.
4. Replace the pictures and the sound, or delete them and take their names out of the json.
5. Zip the files again (the files themselves, not a folder) and name it your-name.gltheme.
6. Import it in the app, and send it to friends the same way.

Going further

Optional keys: accentLight for the light theme, your own surfaces for the backgrounds, a pattern (grid, dots, diagonal, hex, circuit, chevron, crosses, or your own tile), hero.image (about 1200×600, dark, keep the left half quiet), hero.logo, hero.label and a sound under two seconds.

A pack holds at most 8 files and 10 MB. A pack that breaks a rule is refused with the reason, so a pack from a stranger can’t hurt your phone.

Brands

A pack with the logo of a brand, a team or a game is fine on your own phone. Before you publish one, ask the owner: the marks are theirs.
